An inspiration from Susie...

Some time ago I was visiting Susie Harris' blog Bienvenue and was inspired to try a new craft...tile coasters. So I went to the hardware store and purchased some cream tiles (15 cents each). Michael's had a ton of stamps on sale for $1.50 in their clearance aisle so I purchased most of these there. The ink that you use must be water proof. I found it at Hobby Lobby. Kind of expensive at $7.49 but I will wait to buy more when they are 50% off. Please know that this was just a "trial session". Some of my stamps aren't centered on my tile and so forth. Also, I discovered that although the ink is supposed to be water proof if you do get water on it and then someone rubs the tile, the ink will smudge. I happened to have some cheap, spray-on sealer that worked perfectly. Now my ink won't smudge! The felt stickers were also at the hardware store...89 cents per sheet.

Here is Susie's post from when she made her coasters. I love how she used the ribbon and tag to "pretty it up". I will definitely use these as a quick, inexpensive, practical and pretty gift!

Oh I read her post also and put that craft on my TO DO list...thanks for letting me know about the sealant. I think they would make the cutest Chritmas gifts.....
