My New Plate + A Free Giveaway

Don't you just love this adorable plate? I love the details!

You won't believe where I found it......at my own garage sale. It's true! I was having the sale with a friend and she had a set of 7 of these. Since it was an odd number I decided I needed to have one to make it even for the next buyer and wouldn't you know, about 10 minutes later a woman bought the remaining 6. I am slowly getting new decorative pieces for when the Rusty Cottage is all done. Currently our little duplex is decorated with primitive pieces. My living room is all Americana. I think I will be selling most of my prim items on eBay to help fund my cottage decor :) Its a good idea don't you think?

Ok, to the giveaway...

Post a comment and on Friday, July 11th, a random name will be drawn. The lucky winner will win the latest issue of Cottages & Bungalows. This is my first giveaway! We will see how this goes; I would like to make it a regular event! Since this is a new blog I am going to run this a little longer than a week. Please only comment once. Good luck and have a terrific Tuesday!

Love the plate and I do think it is a good idea to sell what you have to help with your new decor! The cottage look will be beautiful, I'm sure of it, I get sick of things very easy, but I never get tired of cottage style! Please enter me in for your giveaway. Thanks.

Thank you for the mix idea - I was just pondering what sort of snack I was taking to our 4th celebration. Having never lived in an area with those kind of storm threats, that seems really scary. Is the bathtub supposed to be a stable place or something? --Vicki K

Well, they say that if you don't have a basement you should go to a room that is in the interior of your house with no windows. But if you don't have one of those then you should get into the bathtub with a mattress over you and or pillows and blankets. The bathroom is the only room here with no windows and is in the interior so that is the safest place for us. A few weeks back my husband had my daughter and I in the tub with blankets all around us and the mattress. He "stood watch" at the door waiting to see if any rotation was occuring above us. I would have preferred that he be in the tub with us. Anyway, as you can guess, it is a scary situation.
