More "Treasures"...Anything you like?

As mentioned in my previous post, we worked on cleaning out the house all day Sunday. Come to find out my mother-in-law has some beautiful dishes. Whatever was left behind were dishes that she didn't want so I guess I will be keeping some of them. They will make great decorationg pieces or serving dishes for get togethers. Linda, my MIL, is close to seventy-years-old and has obviously never been one to get rid of stuff, so I am guessing that some of this stuff could be pretty old. If you have ANY info about these pieces or can point me in a direction to found out if they are important, that would be wonderful. I am not sure if we will be keeping all of these, so if you see something that you just absolutely "must have" drop me an email and we just might be able to work something out. I am able to accept payment through Paypal, if desired. I just can't bring myself to sell these in my garage sale. Tell me whatcha think :)

I love the little rose dish, why don't you keep them, they are perfect for your cottage decor. Now about the bed, it will probably be fine once you add all your bedding. I did spray paint by metal bed, it was not an old one and it turned out okay. In your daughters room since you don't want pink, what about robins egg blue and then do pink accents, that would be pretty. Have you seen The Cottage Gals blog, I have them on my fav's, maybe that will give you some inspiration for your daughters room, I love their blog(look through the archives too). My cabinet is going to be white with robins egg blue on the inside(can you tell I'm in the robins egg blue mood lately).LOL. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice Kelly. I can definitely tell that you are in a "robin's egg blue" mood these days :-) I have seen the Cottage Gals blog but I haven't looked through the archives, so I will do that. Thanks!

Hi Anna!
What lovely dishes ~ I'm always buying pretty plates and bowls at garage sales, etc. ~ not that I really need any. The oval serving platter with the pretty flowers caught my eye right away ~ Sorry I don't know anything about value, etc. Maybe check the bottoms for a stamped company name and look it up online???

I LOVE your treasures! I remember growing up that I would sneak into my mother's room and go through her ceder chest. I loved looking at the old china.

I love going to thirft stores and such looking for pieces like what you pulled out.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. It sounds like we have a lot in common! :)

Hi Anna! What a beautiful blog you have - this is my first visit! Just like you, I've switched over from a primitive style decor to a shabby cottage style! Sounds like you have a lot of work ahead of you, and it's going to be fun watching you transform your cottage through your blog!!...Donna
